今日のフレーズのポイントは、「One's mind is on something」です。

「One's mind is on something」:

英英辞典でも「Your mind is on something」の意味を調べてみましょう。

When your mind is on something, you think about it or give attention to it

I couldn't concentrate on my work - my mind was on other things.

My mind wasn't on what he was saying, so I missed half of it.

Cambridge Dictionary

イギリス人に今日のフレーズ「My mind was on the other things.」

=I was distracted.

=I was thinking about something else.

別の記事でご紹介した「I was miles away.」

違いを挙げると、「I was miles away.」は慣用句ですが、「My mind was on the other things.」

My mind was on the other things.
